Lana Del Rey did a David Lynch-inspired commercial for fashion retailer H&M, where she covered “Blue Velvet.” In the two-minute clip, she makes use of her lower register, as she languidly sings in front of a creepy audience. And now, she has released a video with the full cover. The opening strings instantly call to mind “Born To Die”; the faraway drums and use of echoes reinforce the song’s sense of nostalgia. Watch and listen below.
