[Listen] Ben Gibbard – “Teardrop Windows”

Death Cab For Cutie frontman, Ben Gibbard, has released “Teardrop Windows” – the lead single from his forthcoming solo debut, Former Lives, due out on October 16. The track has a feel-good, folksy kind of vibe – a welcome relief from the sometimes morose DCFC catalogue. Gibbard plays hommage to Seattle’s Smith Tower: the oldest and tallest building in the city, until the arrival of the Space Needle. Here’s some of the lyrics: “Ivory white but feeling kinda blue / Because there’s no one there to see the view […] In 1962, the Needle made it’s big debut / And everybody forgot what it outgrew.” Listen below.
